My apologizes for not posting in a long time.
Lorraine has not been herself since she had the stomach flu in January of this year. She has lost 25 pounds and is very weak. She has fallen out of her wheel chair very often. I called Vitas back in May and they check in on her twice a week. Vitas ordered her a new chair that reclines back and she sleeps in it during the day.
I was visiting with her on Tuesday at dinner time. She looked very weak so I helped her with her food, she told me she was not hungry. The nurse there told me she always says that. I was able to help her with a quarter of her food and most of her protein drink.
It is so very hard to see Lorraine at this point of her life. She was always a strong, independent woman.

One of my favorite pictures of Lorraine and I, at my Wedding on July 18, 1987. She drove over and the first thing she told me when she saw me was, "On my way over to Cocoa there was a double rainbow, that means good luck." To this day every time I see a double rainbow I think of Lorraine. FYI: Duane and I have been happily married 32 years.
